I don't want to repeat what's been said many times before, but the internet has changed everything.
One interesting new phenomena is experiences conferences quasi-live via twitter.
I read a blog a couple days ago by Will Mancini titled
Why You Should Attend Conferences Using Twitter. He suggests that following a conference via Twitter is a more desirable experience than simply watching a conference DVD even though there's less content. Having followed a couple of conferences on Twitter, I know what he means.
I found the article while reading Tweets from Elevation Church's Impart Conference a couple of days ago. Even though I'm 1,400 miles away from the conference, I felt connected to it via twitter. I didn't choose to interact with any of the Tweets, but simply reading their Tweets enables you to share the emotions of the person in the audience. With a DVD you get the content without the energy or community.
agreed bro. love the twitter content from the conferences like Story going on in Chi-town. then we can use the resources we save to implement the ideas God births through the content!
ReplyDeleteI can think of several quotes I've read due to blogs and tweets about/from conferences which have drastically changed the way I approach ministry.
