Want to Start a Revolution?

"What violation of the status quo are you and your church doing to reach those far from God?" -

That's a quote from this blog by William Vanderbloemen titled "Want to Start a Revolution." The example he gives and supports endorses violating noise ordinances (which appeals to the rebel in me), which seems like an odd way to positively affect culture, but his general sentiment resonates well with me.

There's a great quote from Craig Groeschel, which I reference too often, which goes like this:

To reach people no one is reaching you have to do things that no one is doing. To do things no one is doing you can't do what everyone else is doing.

Reaching out in significant and innovative ways requires being different, and being different will inherently make you a target for criticism. Paul said, "Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted." The strange thing is that much of that persecution often comes from other Christians.
