How to be Resourceful: Just Ask

I don't need to go into detail on this one. The title says it all. One of the best ways to be resourceful is to be willing to ask to borrow stuff.

For example, our children's ministry director asked me last week if I could track down some wireless mics for him. Well, I already have two, and he's welcome to use them. I then contacted someone at our parent church and asked if he had any extra wireless mics. He has one and a half (it's missing parts). So I went and picked up the complete unit. The children's ministry director went from zero wireless mics to three wireless mics at no cost in a matter of two days. All he had to do was ask.

  • What are you missing?
  • Who might have it?
  • Who might be able to track it down?
  • Who might have resources which could be useful to you?

Go ask! Sometimes it's just that simple.
