I went to Bible college in South Carolina, and there was literally a church on every street corner. There were two churches a stone throw away from the church I was apart of. Still, there was almost no variety when it came to churches. Every church seemed to take it's cues from every other church of it's style. Every youth group had a Wednesday night meeting. Every youth group went to a camp out of town called Bethel.

Columbia is really effective at reach one group of people. If you're a church rat looking for a youth group, Columbia is the place to be. Unfortunately, no one else is getting reached in a city with more churches than people (not literally...I don't think).

If you're currently only reaching people who would otherwise go to a different church, then you may need drastically re-think your ministry. When you copy every other church in town, you become competition for other churches.

We aren't in competition with one another, so don't copy one another.
