Two Vital Relationships Gained at Bible College

Yesterday I wrote about five things I learned at Bible college.  While most people go to Bible college expecting to learn the types of things I mentioned yesterday, I don't think most people realize the relationships they will gain.

Here are two groups of relationships you gain at Bible College

THE STUDENTS - Fellow Ministers You Can Turn to For Life

I wasn't the most social person in Bible college. In fact one of my good friends had to frequently yell at me to get me to stop hiding in my dorm room all the time.  I think she called me "Stupid" at least once for being anti-social.  Still I met dozens upon dozens of people whom now form a network of people I can turn to in times of need. This is particular true due to Facebook and social media. It's much easier to keep light contact with people from college. In the world of ministry, these light friendships can turn into great ministry opportunities.

A few years back I was looking to organize a missions trip.  I instantly knew of multiple people I could contact to start exploring options.  All of these people were very willing to help me track down leads.

THE PROFESSORS - Teachers That Really Care

I can't speak for all professors at all Bible colleges, but I can say that the staff at Columbia International University truly cared about their students.  They ate in the cafeteria with students. They invited students to their house. They lived their life with their students.  They gave their students great access to their lives.

Over the next two days I share a couple of stories about two professors who showed me that they truly cared about me.  I'm positive that if I opened up this blog to guest bloggers I could come up with a story for each professor.
