After a week of headlines about one celebrity who's actions have clearly communicated that sex, scandal and controversy lead to fame and opportunity, I wanted to share a speech Ashton Kutcher gave a month ago which communicated a different message. Whereas Miley teaches our daughters that being "sexy" requires removing your cloths and behaving nasty, Kutcher sent a different message.
I can't say that I'm a fan of or endorse his work (...though the first movie my wife and I watched as a married couple was The Guardian), but I respect that he's a reached a point of maturity where he wants to use the platform he has been given to tell his audience not what they want but what they need.
